Here is a handy checklist while on the diet

Phase 1    of the diet     duration:  2 weeks to 2 months
 
depending upon how long you been building fluids.  you would in begining stages only go two weeks.  if you suspect more higher levels of fluid its safe to bet only the healing longer duration of 2 or more months is needed.   my doctor actual lenthen this tage for me at 4 months.
 
Download the sheet or copy it however you like.  remember if you already know that you have blood work done on you.  check it with your doctor.  they usual don't tell you if you are being monitered for a medical condition so better still get a copy of the blood work and become familiar with the meaning of the blood work for test in the area of heart, liver and kidney.  these are cruicial for people who suffer accident and have chronic pain.  it could indicate slow loss of function and helps to support it with vitamin therapy as well.  
 
for example:
 
I take Milk thistle and Selenium due to my loss of fuction in both of these organs.   and I suspect because of the many white blood cells I have that I am auto immune compromised.   so I try not to allow for infections and take vitamin and citrus which I am not allergic to.   for you this could be different. but helping an ailing organ is always better to help it function correctly.

Most people suffer from food allergies or intolerance to specific foods.  so for a general rule.  it may apply to you that this list of most common food allergies be applied to you.   that however don't mean it is accurate for you.
 
beef, wheat, dairy, yeast and flour should be avoided.
 
You should also go low fat, no sugar, no caffine for the first stage.  for me this is the hardest as my goodie food choices is sugar free caffine free diet pop.   and
if you don't have a large list of food you need to treat with  try this:
 
soups with several days of three to four veggies that include salad maker or coleslaw maker.  however remember the low fat kind.   taste is everything for the food allergy or diet to sucess.

First week or if you choose first two weeks.  your choice. 
 
try Chicken as your meat.     
 
choose 3 veggies choices beside adding either  rice or potatoes to make it hearty
 
but a cabbage head and chop this head in freezer bags.  if you like it use it more. if you don't use 1/10   to 1/8  of the head in a bag and freeze it.  it can keep a couple of months.   and you would defrost this bag to get the vegetable soup that most taste like campbells.   you would either liquify this with water in a blender and add tomato juice  lite salt or reg as its your only sodium choice and you are making a big soup.   
 
add to your personal taste chicken base or boulion cube to taste.   add pepper and parsley and its got alot of soup for that first hard week.   because so much is limited you don't have to limit serving size.  if your problem is not fat.  you can have as much as you like.  the ideal is your a normal eater.   and two bowls at dinner is not horrible.

Here is wheat free gluten free cracker that I highly recommend.  I can sadly only have the one type.  as seseame seed are allergy to me.   so I place this cracker because it taste good.  this is pizza flavor.   and you might enjoy this taste.  
eat the soup with sugar free caffine free pop,  or better water.   you need alot of water to last.   make sure if any symptom showing up you eliminate all veggies and redo the diet.  as you have symptoms means you cannot progress with soup as one of the veggies , spices, meat choice is an allergy.    if that the case eat boiled chicken in green beans and try eating that.  to determine if the chicken or green beans is the problem.   you can slowly add food which are symptom free on your checklist is food that only aren't checked as X  is good to keep in your diet.  everyone is different on this stage.      this reversal of damage can take people with small fluid retention say under 20 lbs six months or less.  for those with multi conditions causing problems will take at least two to three years.  this is healing a unhealthy body and you need to have the allergies done.   another method if you have allergies and meds that interfer with the testing of foods on you such as singulair or other allergy drugs.  you need to go to an allergist and track the food what it does to you.   heart burn is another problem that is food allergy.   its not on the list but added it in pencil.

I think planning a meal in a set up of food you can eat is best. for instance
3 days of oatmeal everyother day eaten
3 day of yogurt for one of the smaller meals.
3 day of banana for fluid suffers.
3 salad days for lunch. and alternate a real meat of meat potatoe or fish and mach and cheese.  with veggie.
3 days of soups homemade if desired. 
3 days of fruit for a meal ( yes I said fruit as a meal)
limit carbs and eat the smallest sweet if you have a sweet tooth.  they have mini rolos and mini reeses which are tiny but satisfy. Remember This meal for fluid suffer you don't count the carbs as you need the repairing work of fruit carbs for vascular.  also use coconut oil.  which is 76 degree solids or above it liquid just like lymph is in your body. remember move neck up and down 5  x and head side to side 10 x each morning and afternoon for fluid flow in the lymph system.
1 meal of breakfast meat and have three bad days of flour.  or spelt. which has less flour.
have two reg meals which can be used out to eat style.
